A Comparison between the Effectiveness of Norethisterone and Dydrogesterone for treatment of Irregular Menstrual Cycle

Background: Abnormal uterine bleeding is defined as irregularities in the menstrual cycle involving frequency, regularity, duration, and volume of flow outside pregnancy. Up to 1/3rd women experience abnormal their life, with most commonly occurs at menarche perimenopause due disruption hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis. Aim: To compare effectiveness Norethisterone Dydrogesterone for treatment irregular cycles ovulatory or endometrial dysfunction check patient satisfaction after use prescribed hormones by taking feedback. Methods: This observational, comparative, cohort-prospective study was conducted on 100 nonpregnant between ages 15-45 years who presented complaints menstruation gynae outdoor AMTH 6 months from April 2021 September 2021. After excluding pelvic pathology, known thyroid disease, coagulation disorder, contraceptive method, participants were divided into Group A B, each having 50 participants. Results: The mean age±SD 29±3.4 while B had 29.5±3.6. In A, 38(76%) patients reported a regular 3 12(24%) complained persistent despite compliance using Dydrogesterone, 22(44%) 28(56%) three use.
